The excellent Antalya Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in the rich archeological history of Turkey's Mediterranean coast. The modern province of Antalya includes dozens and dozens of important ancient Hellenistic and Roman cities and towns, and other prime archeological sites, and the best artifacts from most of them have been brought here to form the museum's outstanding collection. The museums treasure of artifacts ranges from the Old Stone Age through the Chalcolithic, Classical (ancient Greece and Rome),Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman and Turkish the full length of Anatolia’s  incredibly long history

Information:In 1922 by Suleyman Fikri Erten 1 teacher of the occupation forces from the region after World War II was established in order to protect the artifacts recovered from the looting. First Aladdin Mosque located in Kaleici, more donra Museum located in grooved mosque was moved to its current building in 1972. Antalya Museum today in an area covering 30,000 square meters and consists of 14 exhibition halls and an outdoor sculpture garden and galleries showcasing various artifacts.

Old City of Antalya; Antalya was established in the second century BC by the King of Pergamum Attalos II on the northern most edge of the Gulf of Pamphylia, at the bay where todays harbour is situated. The harbour was chosen because it didn’t accumulate silt and because of the freshwater resources nearby. The city was encircled with city walls in the century following its establishment. There are many gates built along the city walls leading to the harbour. The most imposing gate was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who visited Antalya in the 2ndcentury. The gate still stands today.
